IT Support Pricing Explained.
Most IT companies will not put a number on their website. Here is what small businesses and homes in Central Florida actually pay, what moves the price, and how to read any quote you get, including ours.
Three Ways To Pay For IT Support
These ranges reflect what businesses in Orlando, Lake County, and Seminole County typically pay. Your quote lands inside them based on headcount, equipment age, and how much you rely on being up.
Managed IT, Flat Monthly
$100 to $200 per user per month. A ten-person office typically lands between $1,000 and $2,000 a month for monitoring, security, backups, help desk, and on-site visits. Best once you pass eight to ten employees or cannot afford downtime.
Hourly, Pay When It Breaks
$100 to $175 per hour, billed only when you call. A fair fit for a two or three person shop on current laptops with no server. Expect a higher rate for after-hours or emergency calls.
Fixed-Scope Projects
One written scope, one price, one delivery date. Network builds, office moves, camera systems, server retirements, and websites are quoted this way so the number is known before work starts.
Servers & Add-Ons
An on-site server under management usually runs $150 to $300 per server per month on top of the per-user rate. Cloud backup, email security, and phone systems are priced per user or per device.
Home & Residential
Home computer repair, Wi-Fi, and smart home help is billed hourly at the same $100 to $175 range, and most remote fixes take a single hour. Larger installs are quoted as fixed projects.
What Is Never On Our Quote
No per-ticket fees on managed plans, no long contracts, no surprise travel charges inside our service area, and no “we will need a meeting before we can say a number.”
What Moves The Price
Four Things That Change The Number
Headcount is the base, since most plans are priced per user. Equipment age matters more than people expect: a shop full of eight-year-old computers generates far more tickets than one on a sensible replacement cycle. Compliance obligations (medical, legal, financial) add documentation and tooling. And how much of your revenue stops when the network stops decides how much monitoring you actually need.
💰 The Cost Nobody Prints:
Take the hourly payroll of everyone who cannot work during an outage, add the sales you do not make, and you have your real hourly cost of downtime. For most offices that number makes a flat monthly plan the cheaper option by the end of the year.
How To Read Any Quote
- Get The Scope In Writing
A low number usually means something was left out: after-hours, on-site visits, backups, or security tools billed separately. - Compare Like For Like
Per user versus per device versus per hour are different animals. Convert everything to a monthly total for your actual headcount. - Ask What Happens At 2 AM
Response time and who actually answers the phone matter more than the rate card.
Pricing Questions.
What people ask right after they see the ranges.
How much does IT support cost for a small business in Central Florida?
Roughly $100 to $200 per user per month for a fully managed plan, or $100 to $175 per hour if you only pay when something breaks. A ten-person office usually spends $1,000 to $2,000 a month for complete coverage.
Is there a contract?
Managed plans are month to month after the initial setup. Projects are a single fixed scope. Hourly work has no agreement at all.
When does a monthly plan beat paying hourly?
Usually around eight to ten employees, or the day an outage costs more than a month of support would have. Below that, on current equipment with no server, hourly is often the honest answer.
Do you charge for travel?
Not inside our Lake, Orange, and Seminole County service area. Farther out, we tell you the trip charge before we book it.
Can you give me an exact number?
Yes. A short call about your headcount, equipment, and what you rely on is enough for a real quote, usually the same day.
What does the managed plan actually include?
Monitoring and patching of every computer, endpoint security, backups, email protection, a help desk you can call, and on-site visits when remote is not enough. The scope is written down so nothing is a surprise.
Want A Number Instead Of A Range?
